Minha grande amiga Jana, me escreveu fazendo algumas perguntas e sugeriu que eu fizesse um post no meu blog respondendo as mesmas, então aqui vai o quiz dela:
Eu gostaria de te perguntar sobre sua vida na austrália depois de ter vivido 3 anos nos estados unidos e agora já há 1 ano e meio vivendo aí. Como você vê os australianos e a cultura? Eles são muito diferentes dos americanos e brasileiros? Eu vejo os australianos como um povo muito tranquilo, eles têm um jeito descontraído, são amigáveis e despojados, portanto, para mim, a grande diferença entre a cultura brasileira e a australiana, é que nós somos coletivistas e eles, assim como os americanos, são individualistas.
O que deixa a desejar na austrália e o que você adora? Austrália é um pais jovem e o que deixa a desejar pra mim, o que sinto falta, é de cultura enraizada, de história sabe? aqui não existe um tipo de música, dança, comida, costume diferente como temos no Brasil de norte a sul e como outros países têem. Eu adoro a organização, a beleza natural, a segurança e o estilo de vida despojado.
Você se imagina vivendo aí pelo resto de sua vida? contando que eu consiga ter férias regulares no Brasil, sim. Entre o agora e o resto de minha vida eu gostaria de viver uns anos no brasil.
A Austrália é melhor do que os Estados Unidos ou Brasil? Não há como dizer que um é melhor que o outro, são diferentes...há coisas em cada um deles que eu jamais vivenciaria no outro. A grande diferença entre EUA e a austrália é que, na austrália as pessoas trabalham para viver e nos EUA é o contrário, elas vivem para trabalhar. Já entre austrália e Brasil, a diferença destacada é na qualidade de vida que se usufrui aqui e lá. Aqui os índices de violências são baixíssimos, as leis são respeitadas e vc, como cidadão, tem seus direitos válidos, no brasil, aff...
Você mudaria para austrália se não fosse por Pat?? Tudo dependeria das circunstâncias, pra ser bem sincera se eu pudesse escolher um país pra viver, fora do Brasil, eu escolheria um país na europa, velho mundo, a possibilidade e facilidade de acesso a outros países é excitante, aqui estou, literalmente, ilhada:)
Concluindo é aquilo que alguém já falou por aí: "Morar no Brasil é bom mas é uma bosta, morar no exterior é uma bosta mas é bom"

My lovely friend Jana wrote to me "Polly, I have few questions and maybe you can write blog about it. Maybe people would be interested in it. I wanted to ask you about your life in Australia after one year. How do you see Australian people, their culture. Are they too different from Americans or Brazilians, what do you hate on Australia and on the other hand what do you love there? Can you imagine to spent the rest of your life there? Is Australia better then Unites States or Brasil? If yes, why? Are you happy there? Would you move to Australia if there wasn't Pat?"
I see the australian people as a very relaxed people, they are friendly and the difference that I see between them and brazilians is that we, brazilians, are a coletive culture and they, like the americans, are totaly individualist. What I love about australia is the life's style, what in many ways is similar to brazil and is hard for me to say that I hate somenthing, I would rather say that what is missing here is rich culture (in Brasil is vast), the fact that there isn't much about culture in dance, music, food (australia has a lot influence of america) what I understand because australia is a very young country, that's why:(. Between now and the rest of my life I want to live few years in Brasil:) I wouldn't say that austrália is better than America or Brasil, they are diferent and the biggest diference that I see between australia and america is that in australia people work to live and in america people live to work (over there is all about $$$), and the diference about brasil/australia is the quality of life that we have here, security, it is an organized country, no corruption and Brasil is the oposite. In general I'm happy, I feel luck with my life (now, haahhha), but I always question the question "am I happy?" once I'm not in Brasil I think it will be always something missing:( beside that, yes I'm happy. If wasn't for Pat I'm not sure if I would move here, it would depend in the circunstance, if I had a choice and good opportunity I would like to live in Europe, It would be very excited to live anywhere there and travel around (easily) and get to know another cultures, here I'm far from everywhere, everybody, and in this country border there is water and a lot of sharks!!!!!!!!!! and just for conclusion I can use a sentence that someone already said: "To live in Brazil is good but is shit; to live overseas is shit but is good" :) Foto: Jana and I - Mass / USA january of 2006:)
