Balé de Rua

Fui assistir a performance do grupo mineiro "Balé de Rua" e me surpreendi, eles são espetaculares!! Contando a história da escravidão dos africanos no Brasil eles misturam muito samba, hip hop, camdoblé, capoeira, techno, acrobacias e dança de rua, um barato!! A trilha sonora é tão boa que dá vontade de levantar e dançar.

"Das favelas pra rua,
Da rua pro palco,
Do palco pro mundo"

Esta é a frase usada por eles e que, de forma suscinta, descreve a jornada deles na dança. Um sucesso!

Na saída do teatro, tive a oportunidade de conversar com dois dançarinos e ao perguntar quem é o patrocionador deles não me surpreendi em saber que eles não tem nenhum. Disseram que o produtor é francês e falaram da dificuldade de comunicação porque ninguém do grupo fala outra lingua, além do português.

Eles contaram um pouco do tour na Europa e da preocupação deles em fugir do clichê dos shows "brasil tipo exportação". Eu achei que eles passam uma menssagem que pode servir de inspiração para outros garotos menos privilegiados das nossas favelas de que "se nós podemos fazer, você também pode". Bravo!!!!



I went to see the performance of brazilian dance group called "Balé de Rua" I loved it, they are spectacular! Telling the story of the enslavement of Africans in Brazil they mix a lot of samba, hip hop, camdoblé, capoeira, techno, acrobatics and street dance. The soundtrack is so good that makes you want to get up and dance.

"From the slums to the street,
From the street to the stage,
From the stage to the world "

This is the phrase used by them and describe very well they journey in to the dance. What a success! I reckon the message if-we-can-do-you-can-do can inspire other kids from the slums in Brazil.

Upon leaving the theater, I had the opportunity to talk with two dancers and ask who is sponsoring them and I was not surprised to heard that they haven't got one (shame shame!!), in Brazil a private sponsor is like to win a lottery and our government doesn't invest much in culture, sports, dance:( Even with all the challenge, these kids are doing very well, I absolutely loved the performance:)

McClelland Gallery & Sculpture Park

Se você gosta de natureza e arte, vai gostar do parque McClelland. É um parque com exibições permanentes e temporárias de esculturas de artistas australianos, em estilo contemporâneo; um espaço ímpar, público e gratuito.

Tem a exibição de 60 esculturas ao ar livre e, na parte interna, 3 espaços diferentes com exposições temporárias de gravuras, pinturas, fotografias e esculturas. Existe uma cafeteria modernésima com um menu bem variado e música ambiente. Tem, também, uma lojinha que vende livros de arte e artigos artesanais bem legais.

Aqui na Austrália o governo investe pesado em arte, cultura e entreterimento proporcionando inúmeras opções de diversão gratuitas. É gratificante sair de casa e em cada canto da cidade ver o nosso imposto de renda investido:)

If you like nature and art, you will enjoy the park McClelland. It has permanent and temporary outdoor sculptures by Australian artists, contemporary style and it is public and free.

The unique sculpture park showcases over 60 outdoor sculptures of major australian sculptors and also has three indoor exhibitions and collection displays works on paper, photography, paitings and sculptures. There is a very nice and modern cafeteria and also there is a suvernir shop that sells art books and very cool crafts.

Here in Australia, the government invests a lot in culture, art and entertainment. Melbourne has several options of things to entertain yourself without spending any money:)) we can see in every corner of the city our tax money back:)

Pra quem (como eu) aprecia o capricho e criatividade nas coisas, tomar um cafezinho em uma das milhares cafeterias espalhadas no centro de Melbourne é um prazer. O café é expresso e com a espuma do leite fervido eles fazem estes desenhos que são um charme!!

If you (like me) appreciate creative and well done things; to get a coffee in one of the "milions" of cafeterias in dowtown Melbourne can be an extra pleasure. The coffee is expresso and playing with the froth, the baristas can serve you with coffee + art. How cool is that?

Adorei a pop art e o humor da pintura deste artista e comprei duas destas gravuras para emoldurar e colocar no banheiro social aqui de casa. Encontrei perambulando pela feira de artesanato de St. Kilda, domingo passado:)



































I loved the art pop and humor in theses paints above. I've found it last weekend, in a trade craft art, and I've bought two of them, still have to frame it and hang in the bathroom:) Love it:)

Onde quer que você vá no centro de Melbourne, há uma escultura. A cidade é recheada delas:) Estes sinos na foto acima são chamados de "Federation Bells", são 39 sinos programados por computador para tocarem três vezes ao dia. Se você compõe música pode ter sua composição programada para tocar lá, esteja você aonde estiver no planeta, daí dá pra se imaginar a diversidade de músicas:)

A maioria das esculturas são permanentes, mas existem também as temporárias. Todas bem cuidadas, intactas, lindas. Aqui outras bacanas:


























Every where you go in Melbourne city you see a sculpture. The first picture posted here is about a very interesting one, it is called "Federation Bells" there are 39 upturned bells programed, by computer, to play 3 times a day. Anyone, from anywhere in the planet, can have they composition playing there, so you can imagine the diversity of what you can listen:) I guess I have to do another post displaying photos of another sculptures, there are so many and they are all gorgeous and it makes the city itself an entertaining place to be. Some of them are permanent some are temporary. All the photos above I've taken myself:)

Eu aprecio muito a arte aborígene que é, quase sempre, simples, porém, cheia de símbolos com seus significados. Eles expressam na arte eventos do dia a dia como rituais, sonhos, paisagem de onde vivem, rios, pedras, plantações, estrelas e etc...Eles também incluem, nas pinturas, símbolos em que o significado não é revelado.

I've been to some Aboriginal art gallery here in melbourne and I really like the Abo art what looks simple but there is strong meaning underneath. The Abo people express in their work memorable events in their lives as a family tree, dreaming story, landscaping, plantations, rocks, waterholes, rivers and etc. Their art work is full of symbols and meanings, they also use secret symbols in their art that they don't have to share with anyone:)

I loved this ad from the australia post; it says: "if you really want to touch someone, send them a letter" it is soooooooooooooo true!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mini Melbourne

Ben Thomas é um fótógrafo local que faz um trabalho espetacular, quase intrigante, ao dar a Melbourne uma imagem de cidade brinquedo. Em suas fotos, ele "encolhe" a cidade, as pessoas, os carros os sinais...é muito interessante ver a cidade como miniatura!

Para os mais curiosos e amantes da fotografia, aqui você irá encontrar toda uma explicação técnica detalhada de como ele faz isto, tudo sobre o foco, linhas planas, paralelas, posições da lente, distorções geométricas; técnicas à parte, eu acho divertidíssimo o trabalho dele!
