Ontem foi feriado aqui, dia da Australia. Nao tenho a menor ideia do que aconteceu de comemoracao para este dia aqui em Melbourne. Eu e Pat fomos dar uma volta de moto pela area rural; fomos a 150km de distancia de onde moramos. As fazendas aqui sao belissimas com vastos campos planos, a vegetacao nao eh densa e tambem nao se ve lagos nem tao pouco cachoeiras. A Australia, no geral, eh um Pais muito seco :(
~Yesterday was holiday here, Aussie Day. I have no idea what happen in the city as a celebration. I went for a motorbike ride to the country, with Pat. We went 150km far from where we live and that was fun! The farms are beautiful with vast flat fields, the vegetation isn't dense and also we don't see lakes and not even water falls. Australia is a very dry country :(. 
Fizemos varias paradas em pubs, parques, restaurante e eh notavel a diferenca de como as pessoas sao mais amigaveis e sorridentes do que na cidade :) Meu dia foi otimo e super diferente do usual.
~We've done several stops in pubs, parks, restaurants and straigh way I've noticed how the people is much more friendly than the people in the city :) I had a great and fun day!

Eu passei o dia da Austrália em casa, mas ontem fomos dar uma voltinha até as praias ao sul de Sydney. Lindas!

everytime u measure distances in km, i have to convert to miles.
the poor dumb americans, we must have really had it in for the english when we set up our own system of weights and measures.
do u know how many km in a mile w/o looking it up? were u paying attention when u lived here?
headin home from my sisters on a sunday nite. going to vt. tomorrow for rest of week. got 2 new tires for my car yesterday. the one's i had on front could not handle snow. now i feel more confident.body work on my car was finished friday. had a quiet weekend.spoke to my friend in california at length today to see how she was doing w/ cancer treatments. she told me she spent 4 days in hospital in mid -january
and thought she was going to die as she had a hi fever. she fell behind 1 week w/ chemo treatments.
she has 2 more to go then several wks of radiation. not fun and not very reassuring that she'll be cured. you take care of yourself always. my friend blames her cancer on hormonal therapy post menopause.

Ha ha, as Robert said, two summers in one year isn't fair! But good for you. :)
With the people is everywhere the same. That's why I and David like to go to New Hampshire because the people there are much more friendlier.
